In this article, I will be reviewing SB plant invigorator and bug killer to see if it is an effective plant rejuvenator and bug killer. If you continue to read you will find out. In a previous article, I reviewed the Garlic Wonder Organic Concentrate which I sang the high praises for.
Garlic Wonder Organic concentrate is not the only chemical that can be used to treat your plants, but others out there can act as a foliar feed and kill bugs. This is where the plant invigorator and bug killer concentrate comes into the equation, and we will see of this concentrate is good as Garlic Wonder Organic Concentrate or not. Find out here as we delve into this topic further.
WHAT IS SB PLANT INVIGORATOR AND BUG KILLER?
This is a 50ml bottle of concentrate that when diluted makes up to 50litre is spray. This is enough to fill 50, 1 l litre spray bottles or 100, ½ litre spray bottles. All this for a bargain price.
The product is an environmentally friendly pesticide, fungicide, and foliar feed, which can be used for all edibles and flowers.
We are all demanding lower concentrations of pesticides in our foods, to have as little residue of pesticides as possible. We do not want to consume harmful pesticides and so we have to look for alternatives. This is where organic-based chemicals come into play.
The spray can be used by any gardener for their fruit trees and bushes, vegetables, flowers, roses, shrubs, and other trees to control a wide range of insects. The range of ghastly beasties that can be controlled includes whitefly (a real pest in greenhouses), aphids (a pest in dry and sunny summers), spider mites (another pest in the greenhouses), mealybugs, scale and psyllids.
It works by having a physical mode of action that is not chemical or biological-based. It basically makes the leaves conditions for bugs as difficult as possible, so they do not want to live on your plants.
If you follow the instructions, correctly pests will not become resistant to this action. The problem with some conventional treatments is that over time bugs become resistant and it will become less effective over time. This product, therefore, has a clear advantage.
It is effective as an insecticide is without question, as some users have complained that the critters still remain after the plant has been sprayed. If the user is not following instructions or if the spray is not working, the answer is still uncertain.
IT IS ALSO A FOLIAR FEED
The product also acts as a foliar feed, where some nutrients are transferred to the plant via its leaves. This will prevent chlorosis (yellowing of the leaves). It will, therefore, improve the quality of the leaves, turning them greener and more healthy-looking. It also claimed to act as a plant wash to make plant leaves look shiner, especially true of houseplants.
CAN BE A WEAK FUNGICIDE
It can act as a weak fungicide in particular for mildew. To do this it must be applied frequently at the first sign of an attack. I must stress it will not work for other forms of fungal infections from rusts, spots, or rots, so do not use them to treat these conditions.
SB plant invigorator is biodegradable and non-toxic to humans and pets.
As you can see it has many uses in the garden from greenhouses to houseplants. If it can be used indoors then it cannot be all bad. We are all familiar with foul-smelling sprays often used outside, so you do not have to worry if you use the spray in an enclosed area; a real bonus.
You can even add the diluted mixture directly to the compost to feed plants and to deal with some of the soil-based pests.
PROS
- Makes 50 litres of spray for a reasonable price, considering how many bottles of these sprays you would have to use.
- Environmentally friendly.
- Biodegradable.
- Non-toxic to humans and pets.
- Can treat insect infestations.
- Can be used as a foliar feed.
- Has some abilities to treat powdery and downy mildew.
CONS
- It may not work on all insects, as some complain that heavy infestations are not dealt with.
- Only has limited range as a fungicide.
WHY SHOULD I BUY SB INVIGARATOR AND BUG KILLER CONCENTRATE?
To be truthful I have not used this product but I have worked with gardeners who have. The result is a mixed bag, as a bug spray, it can be effective, especially if it is used regularly and at an early sign of infestations.
As a foliar feed, it is very good and comparable with others on the market. I would say it is not the best, but most certainly it is not the worst.
As a fungicide, it is very limited and partially successful in treating powdery and downy mildew. For other fungal infections, it is not effective at all.
If you combine all three modes of action then it is not a bad product. It may not be the best insecticide, it may not be the best foliar feed, and it may not be the best fungicide but not many products will do all three better.
SO WHICH IS BETTER GARLIC WONDER ORGANIC CONCENTRATE OR SB INVIGARATOR?
This question I leave up to you to answer. I have presented the case for both products and I leave it up to you to decide to which the best is.

Hello, so I’m interested in SB Plant Invigorator and Bug Killer Concentrate (whoa quite a mouthful haha) for my bonsai trees (they are in pots). Do you think SB Plant concentrate will work to keep bugs and fungus off of my bonsai trees or do you think it might harm them? Some of them are 20+ years old so I need to be extra careful with what spray products I use. Let me know what you think, thank you.
Hi Digger
I can ensure you that it will not harm your bonsai trees, as long as you follow the written instructions. They would have tested the product extensively and will not risk it if it kills plants.
Kind Regards
Antonio
I really appreciate how truthful and honest you were when saying that you have never tried this product in particular. I’m curious and somehow confused as to how that actually works? I mean, it’s basically an anti insect product but what is the big ingredient for that. I’m also confused as to how it doesn’t involve chemicals and you can use it on the foods that you eat? Does it have some type of FDA approval or something similar?
Hi Stephanie
Thank you for the visit and this delightful comment. It is a chemical-based product but it does not kill chemically but act physically to make it unpleasant for insects as much as possible. Its action is, therefore, physically based and not chemical or biologic based. Its mode of operation is different than for other insecticide, The main ingredient makes it physically uncomfortable for the bugs as possible. It is a product regulated by the EU.
To summarise it does not kill biologically or chemically but physically. The ingredients used are not harmful to pets or humans and has been demonstrated to be. This means it can be sprayed on food crops with no harm. It is a chemical that does not kill chemically. Hope that makes it clear.
Thanks

Hi Antonio,
This is a great article on the SB plant invigorator and bug killer concentrate.
Being mindful of the ecosystem by going organic will save our planet from more harm. I really support the idea of biodegradability of this product plus it is not made of artificially manufactured raw materials.
I also like the idea that it is also usable as foliar for plants which adds to its benefits. Keep on creating awareness by this blog as many lovers of gardening are finding it useful.

Hi Boniface
First I must say I like the name. I am keen on saving the plant and only recommend products that do not damage them and this is one of them. This plant invigorator has multiple uses and therefore there is a lot to like.
Thanks

As a pet owner, I’m always looking for non-toxic options to keep my plants bug free!
While I like that this particular option also adds some amount of nutrients to the plants and is an effective insecticide its lack as a fungicide makes me wonder if it is for me – I have some problems in my garden with that!
Do you have a recommendation for a product that is non-toxic for pets and excellent at getting rid of my poor plant’s diseases as well?
Thanks for the review!!
Hi Raff
Thank you for stopping by. I have reviewed a product that is based on garlic, which has more fungicide properties and is safe foe use with pets. Find it Garlic Wonder Organic Concentrate, a Plant Invigorator-A Review. Give this a try and you may be pleasantly surprised.
Kind Regards
Antonio
Very good review! I was looking for natural alternatives, since I heard that you can treat pests with other types of plants or vegetables (for example the Garlic you mentioned, although I’m not sure if this product has a lot of smell), and I came to your review.
I need to control the pests in an orange tree that I have, and some leaves are starting to turn yellow, so I think it’s a good time to start with prevention.
I like the idea that insects don’t get used to this type of pestidic, since it happened to me before with chemical insecticides, which after some seasons stopped working.
In addition to the extra shine! 🙂
You mentioned that for the control of fungi it is not very strong. Is there any particular fungus in which it works well?
I’m going to take a look at this product you mention and see if it works with my beautiful orange tree! 🙂
Thank you very much for this review.
Regards
Paul
Hi Paul
Thank you for those kind words. This product works well for plants that are attacked by mildew and not other fungal infections. For those, I would recommend Garlic Wonder Organic Concentrate, a Plant Invigorator-A Review.
This product should help your Orange tree and should give it a quick boost, so why don’t you try it.
Kind Regards
Antonio
Thank you for the suggestion Antonio, I will take a look on the Garlic product you mentioned. I will keep you post 😉
I have just started working on planting and tending to a vegetable garden. The plants look great so far, but I have been wondering how to maintain them. Your review answers a lot of my questions. I like the fact that this product is biodegradable, and organic. I am thinking of purchasing it because it is likely to take care of most of my requirements, even though there might be a little weakness in one area. My question are “ How often and in what amounts do you apply the spray as a regular treatment and what are the first signs that the plants are not well?” Thanks for all this information
Hi JJ
Thank you for stopping by and commenting. You cannot beat growing your own veg. I have written an article on pest and disease that plants can exhibit Diseases and Pests of Plants in Containers-What to Watch Out for? Once the signs are there, the plants need to be treated immediately. It is best to follow the written instruction on the container, as this will vary from plant to plant, and I cannot inform because of this. I am currently writing a more detailed account on pests and diseases and treatments for plants, which will be published in the near future.
Kind Regards.
Antonio
